Moon Festival Rabbit Battledore (light)

Tsukimi (the Japanese moon-viewing tradition) is a seasonal custom of admiring the autumn moon.

The best-known observance, Jugoya (十五夜), traditionally falls on the fifteenth night of the eighth month of the old lunar calendar.  Seasonal foods and susuki (Japanese pampas grass) are often displayed while enjoying the beauty of the moon and giving thanks for the harvest.
